i'm actually against this. while on the surface it seems like a good idea, we can't go back in time. the incredibly miraculous niche that allowed the existence of a being, once destroyed, cannot be recreated. did these scientists not watch jurassic park? humans need to stop playing god. we really do a bad job of it. if we want to protect endangered species, we need to stop destroying their environments NOW. this path, of human-as-god, leads down a scary path, one where this biologically diverse planet becomes one fucked up human experiment and wilderness no longer exists.

Haven't read the article yet, but I do agree with your commentary.

hmmmmmm........ re-introducing extinct species.... 'cause we've done so well with that sort of thing (although not necessarily extinct) already (thinks cane toads, rabbits, etc, in Austraila just for starters...)

I think we're arrogant and stupid as a species... all we're really barking for is to be on the endangered species list ourselves.

*sighs*

Yeah, completely agree with you. We need to stop destroying the environment for our selfish greed. People have lost the whole concept of value, they can trash things because they can always buy/make another! Applied to all inanimate objects and now living things by the sound of it!
