yes, although europeans carried the banner through the last couple or few millenia, only recently passing it to their "new american" ancestors. there's such a mocking over here when "white man" is mentioned, like white man doesn't deserve such a derogatory label, or something. i feel like i stem mostly from colonized europe (celtic and bohemian ancestry) but i can still identify the colonizers as stemming from the same lands i did. others seem to have far more of a problem with that. i guess truth is a huge issue for many, isn't it. :(
