barefoot on hot tarmac sucks. the trick is to run. fast. i bet, as a kid, you ran fast!

that said, i protested in st. pete, florida with no shoes. frequently. it's a matter of getting used to it, and selective placement of feet. i would go from sand patch to grass patch to concrete (white cement is always cooler than black tarmack!)

but grass is the best. go to the park and walk barefoot there. i drive barefoot, too, incidentally.
